Course Overview

Many hospital inpatients need intravenous (IV) fluid therapy to prevent or correct problems with their fluid and/or electrolyte status.

Deciding on the optimal amount and composition of IV fluids to be administered and the best rate at which to give the can be a difficult task, and decisions must be based on careful assessment of the patient’s individual needs.

The course is designed to enable healthcare professionals to safely initiate and maintain intravenous therapy in the clinical setting.

To teach healthcare staff(whom IV starts and care are part of their scope of practice) the fundamental principles and competencies required to begin, maintain and discontinue intravenous therapy.

Also, the course is design to integrate the infection control practices in IV management.

IV Therapy Regulatory Acceptance

The IV Therapy Management Course is accredited by Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DOH) and is recognised by Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and the Ministry of Health (MoH).

The course completion certificate is also accredited by Australasian Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians/ Emergency Medical Services Accreditation and Recognition.

The Course is approved for 7 CME Hours necessary for license renewal purposes of heath care professionals practising in United Arab Emirates and is the only IV therapy course in Dubai which is recognised internationally.
